Celebrating the joy of Middle Eastern Dance

The Crescent Dancers will be presenting a Gala Performance at the Clarion Hotel on April 17, 2009.

The Pioneer Valley’s Premier Middle Eastern Dance Troupe -- established by Phyllis Woolf in 1975 -- is
Shifáh (Joanne Tebaldi), Cynarra (Wanda Koch), Emuna (Faith Kaufmann), Debira (Deb Zeigler), Hadama (Karen Traub), Adira (Lori McElhiney), Rafiah (Michele Sullivan), and DeeVanna (Denise Matte).

The event will include a “shimmy-thon" to benefit Animal Shelter Renovation, Inc., a nonprofit animal rescue organization in western Massachusetts.

The lively dances in colorful costumes include a dance tribute to the late Sandra Lopes, a longtime Crescent Dancer and friend.

The evening will culminate with a brand new choreography called “Wings of Wonder.”

For over 30 years The Crescent Dancers have dazzled audiences of all ages with glittering costumes, inspiring dances, and passion.

Bellydance is an ancient art form that lets women express our feminine side and is great exercise. Bellydance is a cultural bridge between East and West and brings people together. It is for women of all ages and celebrates the beauty of every woman.
