Event Description

The Northampton Arts Council presents LANDSCAPE: SCENE AND UNSEEN, a biennial juried exhibition of two and three-dimensional work at the Hosmer Gallery in Forbes Library from October 3-31, 2009.
A reception for the artists is on Arts Night Out, Friday October 9th from 5-7pm.

The juried exhibition was open to artists living in Western Massachusetts and the response was impressive, with over 80 entries received, making the jury process a challenge. The jurors ultimately selected works from 24 artists for LANDSCAPE: SCENE AND UNSEEN. While landscape is often restricted to habitat, this show celebrates what might be called “inscape”—a view into the artist’s interior environment.

LANDSCAPE: SCENE AND UNSEEN features Sarah Adam, Tom Adams, Simone Alter-Muri, Matt Anderson, Pat Bega, Peter Dellert, Rita Edelman, Rachel Folsom, Rebecca Porter Fricke, Alicia Adams Hunsicker, Anita S. Hunt, Elizabeth Keyes, Brian M. Kiernan, Bernie Kubiak, Elizabeth M. Lehman, Linda Mahoney, Robin Marlowe, David Marshall, Howard M. Meister, Barbara Milot, Kerry O'Grady, Greg Saulmon, Mary Witt and Kristin Zottoli. Two and three-dimensional media including painting, mixed media, photography, sculpture, printmaking, digital imaging, and video arts are featured in LANDSCAPE: SCENE AND UNSEEN.

The Northampton Arts Council presents this biennial juried exhibition with support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the City of Northampton.
