Arts Night Out opening reception on Friday, April 8, 5-7pm.

A selection of works from Lisa Leary’s Honors Art classes at Northampton High School will be on display in the East Gallery during the month of May. The exhibition features pieces by Fabienne Andrews-La Font, Paul Bird, Megan Leal Causton, Will Hannum, Davis Hass, Sarah Inness-Gold, Emma Larson, Hilton Lau, and Siera Resiler, revealing originality, technical skill and the emergence of a personal vision or voice.

Several of the student artists in the show have won prestigious awards at the regional and national level for their work from the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. In addition, eight Honors Art seniors received Gold Keys at the state level in the Boston Globe Scholastic for their art portfolios. Portfolios consist of eight works of art and an essay about their work. A Gold Key is the highest honor at the state level.

Many of the seniors will be continuing their educations at some of the most prestigious art schools in the country, including the Rhode Island School of Design, Maryland Institute of Art, and the Chicago Art Institute.

Regular gallery hours are 11am-4pm, Tuesday through Friday. The gallery is also open during certain public events over the weekend. Call the Center for details.
