Photographing Fine Craft and Art with Paul Teeling: A “ hands on” workshop for the studio arts professional

Paul Teeling, commercial product photographer and longtime faculty member from the Hallmark Institute of Photography will conduct a photography workshop for artisans on Sunday, Sept. 12 from 1:00 to 5:00PM at the Orange Innovation Center, 131 West Main St., Orange, MA.

Photographing Your Work- Basic Lighting, Set up and Composition Skills for artisans and artists is geared to the studio arts professional. Area artisans and artists have identified good photographs of their work as a major stumbling block for getting into exhibitions and shows. This workshop will empower artisans with the basic skills they need to confidently photograph their work and the knowledge to recognize a good product shot produced by a professional photographer.

The workshop will go over procedures for photographing a variety of 2-D and 3-D objects. Considerations and concerns for lighting both reflective and matte finishes, convex and concave forms, and objects ranging from small jewelry items to life size sculptural pieces will be addressed. Attendees should bring a digital camera. Cameras can be basic, professional or anything in between but participants must be able operate the camera without assistance. More information will be provided upon registration.

Due to generous underwriting support from the North Quabbin Garlic and Arts Festival, the Orange Innovation Center and sponsored by The League of Massachusetts Artisans & Artists, the workshop is only twenty five dollars. Space is limited to twenty participants. Registration is required.
