The Birth Exhibit

A collaborative fundraising event to raise awareness of
birth options and celebrate BIRTH in Springfield MA

Saturday, October 1    2 P.M. – 5 P.M.

The Springfield Pulse Artspace is invested in the life of our community; especially
NEW LIFE, Beginnings, and the
Conception and Birth of creative ideas. 
As a tribute to all things Natal, Pulse is gathering artists to share
their creative talents with us by submitting anything creatively “birthy” for
this intriguing display. 

A reception will open The Birth
Exhibit that will include refreshments, music and an evening screening of
Vickie Elson’s film “Laboring Under
an Illusion” at 7pm in The Hill performance
venue. 
Vickie has made herself available to facilitate an interactive discussion
with the audience following the film. 

In addition to gallery art and
the film screening, Pulse will invite many birth professionals that serve the
Springfield Area to present table displays during the opening. Many birth
options will be represented in order to raise awareness of birth choices and
services in the Community of Springfield.

Pulse
celebrates growth, community, process, and healthy progress with good
support.  So, it is fitting for us to
share the proceeds of our upcoming event with the Green River Doula Network which shares many
of the same values and is actively affecting positive change right here in
Springfield, MA.  50% of any funds raised
through this event will be donated to support GRDN’s Baystate Volunteer On-Call
Doula program and Nurturing the Need which matches doulas with low income women
in the Springfield area. 

A donation of $5.00 per person is requested.

The exhibit will close on Friday  November 11^th.
