It wasn't until I started spending hours studying and painting people and the things we surround ourselves with — that I realized how much beauty there is in what we see every day. I like the idea that in many ways what we find most desirable and valuable is not power or money — but other people.
I don’t try to perfectly match reality, instead choosing colors and applying heavy brush strokes by intuition. I use acrylics, often on “found” surfaces like wallpaper and paint chips, to elevate these common objects and to introduce another opportunity for chance and serendipity to play a role.
I also record experimental music under the project name: Brutum Fulmen. I create electro-acoustic, acousmatic, musique concrete soundscapes. I work outside the musical “reality” of traditional instruments, notes, and frameworks of harmony & rhythm. Instead I manipulate feedback, field recordings, and noises from ordinary objects which usually go ignored.
