KAPOW! KPAO! KAPOW!

KPAO! which stands for Kennedy Park Arts Outreach is a project spearheaded by Stephanie Gerolimatos and Mark Bodah who are partnering with Holyoke Parks & Rec and working under the umbrella of The Holyoke Arts League non-profit 501-c3. The project has been funded in part through a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and generous donations from various businesses and companies.

KPAO (pronounced kapow!) has local teens and neighbors working together to make art and be creative. We organized and presented a successful arts and crafts festival in Holyoke’s ward 7 Kennedy Park on August 14, 2010. We're hoping to make this a yearly tradition. KPAO provides a healthy creative outlet for local teens, gives them a sense of belonging to the community and highlights their unique creative talents. The project aims to build a better relationship between Kennedy Park neighbors and local teens who frequent the park.
