One of my interests in architecture is the dissolution of the edge between building and landscape. My drawing studies are an extension of that interest, as I explore the nebulous relationship between assemblies of walls, beams or groupings of trees and the landscape beyond.
Five years ago, I returned to live in Western Massachusetts with my family. In addition to developing my work as an artist, I continue to practice architecture with Juster Pope Frazier in Northampton. My next solo exhibit will be at Gurari Collections in the SOWA district of Boston's South End on May 7th.
That's too bad, it could be a great 'new life adventure'. Stop in on the 12th and check us out, it may change your mind. I look forward to meeting you.
PS. I'd appreciate it if you could spread the word about Valley Hands to any artists you know that may be interested, thanks.
Love your work! Would you be interested in participating in Northampton's Arts Night Out at Valley Hands on Pleasant St? We're joining the gallery walk on June 12th. Our concept is 'Watch Art Develop', a gallery where local artists create, exhibit and sell their work. Fri 2-8, Sat & Sun 12-5 - artists must be present and creating. Let me know and we can talk more ~Dorene Pennell, Valley Hands
