crowningshield dreams for sale

I found the perfect space in Greenfield, it is huge with a couple big rooms good for classes and studio a kitchen and some small studio...This place has a lot of potential and is relatively cheap, I am looking for some artists to go in on this 'artists coop' idea that I have to make the space afordable for more people who love the holistic approach to creativity . This would be good for people who dance, yoga, massage, music and more. Looking for teachers who may be interested and board members,… Continue

Katherine S Carey Searching For Color Photography Darkrooms...

1/25/10 I'm searching for darkroom space in Western Mass that offers color printing capabilities (for chromogenic prints, from film). I'm not a student at any of the Five Colleges and, therefore, have found it impossible thus far to find darkroom space open to professional photographers. Otherwise, it seems like my only option is packing up my negatives and trekking to New York to rent darkroom space in the city. Is this really true? If anyone can help me out, or has any advice, I would greatl… Continue

Commonwealth Center for Change Striving to Survive: C3 Arts Visioning, November 9th

Our visioning session last week was somewhat clouded by the pressing need for funding to keep C3 alive. The topic of Survive, Revive, Thrive, resonates with our needs right now and it was also tricky to balance the lack of certainty of C3’s financial future and introducing new folks to C3 with brainstorming ideas for the coming months. In this meeting I was reminded that there are great people who care about these things and want to see C3 survive. I was also reminded of the importance to work f… Continue

Commonwealth Center for Change A conversation: one of many

So on October 29th a few of us got together and chatted about the C3 Arts Visioning document I had created and where we'd like to see things go in the coming months. Below is some text that generally documents that conversation. We arrived at the next plan of action: A brainstorm and planning session around the theme: Survive, Revive, Thrive which we will put into action during the winter months. Join us Monday, November 9th at 5:30 to give us your two cents and hop into actionContinue

Commonwealth Center for Change C3 Arts Visioning

We've gained momentum and now is the time to take stock of what we want and where we're going. Below (and attached) are my initial reflections on what C3's arts programing is and where I'd like to see it go. How can we best reflectContinue

Carrie L. Hale The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later, an epilogue

Eleven years ago today Matthew Shepard died five days after being brutally beaten and left for dead in Laramie, Wyoming by two young men. He was killed because he was gay. While some strides have finally been made in hate crime legislation, there is work to do. Such heinous acts, such hate cannot be forgotten. Tonight The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later, an epilogue is being performed in one-hundred cities around the U.S. Locally it is being performed with free admittance at 7:30pm at the Aca… Continue

MWiseman A Word from The Advocate

http://www.valleyadvocate.com/article.cfm?aid=9704 From Beijing with Love Thursday, May 14, 2009 By Becky Everett Artist and designer Mary Wiseman clearly values artistic freedom—when she handed out 100 blank journals for 100 days in Beijing, Wiseman invited recipients to decorate them any way they saw fit. The journals, which were passed from person to person during the 100 days, were embellished with words, drawings, collages and more by the anonymous artists of Beijing. Prints of pages fro… Continue
